YouTube Are Taking Over The World - In the last couple of years there has been an increase in internet mega monsters. Just like the print media world there is basically a few big major players that have the ability to stand the test of time, MySpace, Facebook, Google, Yahoo and, of course, YouTube are a few that are worth naming.



When one of the founders of YouTube, Chad Hurley, sat down to blog last week he seemed quite positive and pretty excited about YouTube’s exciting future. Hurley, quite obviously a YouTube fan, is excited, and proclaiming that YouTube will only get bigger. At the moment for every human minute that passes about 13 hours of video are uploaded on to the video site. Hurley suggests that this will only increase and the downloading of the videos will start to increase because of the different ways that people are watching their YouTube videos – on their TV screens, computers, mobile phones and portable devices.

While you can do all these things now, the addition of smart phones and their increasing popularity will do a lot to increase the viewership and the viewer’s ability to watch more and more of those tiny little vide clips.

Hurley and YouTube’s plan to continue to make it easier and easier to upload and view videos. Subject matter is also on the agenda, with the collaboration between YouTube and other media providers to give you the kinds of clips that will help and entertain you.

Smart phones, like other mobile technologies, are also cameras, which means the increased use of these devices opens the window for people to upload their videos using their mobile phone, only minutes after they have shot it. Making YouTube more of an instant medium, like the social networking sites.

YouTube has only been around since 2005, but is already the leader in online videos. Like most of the successful internet upstarts at the moment YouTube is a favorite because of its simple design, ease of use and large availability of files.
